This was a free download from Audiblego get it The short story was good it was about Hell in a technological universe It was creepy and completely Neil GaimanBut the best part of this free download was a healthy sample of The Ocean at the End of the Lane if you are looking forward to this book this sample is a nice tease

I'm not sure what this is really about I feel like this little story is simple to be interpreted the way you like It seems to be a mix of tech

Oof This did NOT age well I'm sure the devilish technology angle was super fresh in 1990 but there's nothing like a demon trying to trade your soul for five floppy discs to render a short piece ridiculous

Mephistopheles and Lucifer have an app for evil Well no Since this short story released by audible as a freebie combined with a preview of The Ocean at the End of the Lane was originally published in 1998 Satan and his gang don't have an app However they do envision technology as a perfect vehicle to deliver evil And the priests are at a loss stumbling around this new operating system

Once again Gaiman's use of beautiful prose strings together a unconventional look at a simple day Characters setting and life itself

This is a very bizarre short story Gaiman imagines a world where technology has grown beyond its station becoming commerce and religion And pigeons play a very interesting part I listened to the audio version narrated by Gaiman himself which was a treat

Free small audiobook from Audible read by the author himself It also includes an sneak peak at The Ocean at the End of the Lane This short story is one of my favourites from Smoke Mirrors It always makes me wish that it was a novel instead of a short story
